A client of ours in Central Austin is in search of a temporary Part-time Accountant to join their team!ABOUT THE COMPANY:
With the help of their funding, legal aid organizations provide assistance in civil matters to more than 100,000 low-income Texas families each year.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position performs a wide variety of low volume, basic accounting and financial
administrative functions including banking activity, A/P, journal entries, reconciliations, and
general accounting work for a small office.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Performs a variety of accounting functions:
A/P invoice and expense reimbursement processing and related documentation
and approvals.
Bank activity tracking in XL worksheets.
Bank reconciliations.
Accurately entering transactions into accounting software.
Entering items for payment in online banking application.
Preparing requests for payments/bank transfer letters.
Assist with bank deposit processes.
Prepare for review and approval, enter journal entries.
Research transaction details and assist with audit requests for information.
Assist compilation of time sheets and cost tracking for grant administration
reimbursements.
Assist other staff with accounting related work, including processing of
payments to grant recipients and related tracking.
Performs other functions as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Four years’ experience in a professional, small office environment that requires basic
knowledge of double-entry accounting and related principles.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university is desirable but not
required; major coursework in accounting, finance, business administration
preferred.
Attention to detail and accuracy, efficiently producing quality work required.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products required, particularly Excel.
Experience with bank accounts, A/P and A/R accounting processes required.
Experience with batch accounting system required. MS Dynamics software preferred.
Experience in nonprofit accounting and grant accounting/compliance preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both orally and written.
Reports to- Director of Finance, CPA
20-30 hours/week in-office only (NO REMOTE)
$25-28/hr DOE
Location- Central Austin off of Rio Grande 78701
Could turn full-time/permanent in the future- benefits would be included if taken on permanent
