Construction Company- Dripping Springs, TX

Job Description:

A mid-size construction company is seeking a Accounting Manager with outstanding analytical ability to join our growing and fast paced business. The Accounting Manager will effectively execute all accounting processes and controls.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Prepare and accurately record accounting transactions into Quickbooks (most likely moving to Online version)
  • Maintain all monthly account and bank reconciliations and research to resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Prepare periodic management reports regarding accounting and fiscal activity.
  • Responsible for the timely month-end accounting close process
  • Payroll preparation using Quickbooks
  • Analyze the financial results and make recommendations to management for operational efficiency
  • Administer fixed asset program and manage all documentation of assets and depreciation
  • Manage and maintain a strong system of internal control
  • Construction accounting experience is required such as draws and how retain age works
  • Coordinate and work with Audit CPA firm for tax return preparation, audits and other projects including cleaning up the past 3 years of construction projects for proper historical reference
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Maintain a strong purchase order system and insure compliance
  • Manage Accounts Payable
  • Manage Accounts Receivable

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of full-time accounting, financial statement preparation, financial analysis, or related experience requiring compilation, reconciliation and/or analysis of detailed financial information
  • Experience in Construction Industry required
  • Experience in payroll administration
  • Experience in general ledger design, implementation and conversions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Extensive skill in completing detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Extensive skill in analyzing detailed accounting records, troubleshooting associated problems, and interpreting and applying applicable laws, policies and procedures.
  • Considerable skill in using a computer in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office including Work, Excel, Powerpoint and other business software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive skill in planning, organizing and prioritizing work assignments to manage a high volume workload in a changing environment
  • Ability to execute and meet deadlines within time constraints.
  • Ability to effectively present basic financial information to management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, staff and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

  • Bachelor's (Required)

  • Construction accounting: 2 years (Preferred)
