Cicero Therapies family of business is hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist in Birmingham, AL.

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be working closely with the billing staff to ensure that claims are processed and billing procedures are followed up on. This is a customer facing role in which you will help patient families navigate payment processes and follow up on any outstanding billing issues. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication abilities in helping patient families with collection of payments and billing questions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Submit and refile insurance claims properly
• Work claim rejections, denials, and corrections thoroughly
• Post insurance payments accurately and timely
• Work outstanding insurance accounts receivable through to payment
• Professionally communicate with the extended family of teams at the practices
• Send patient statements monthly
• Post patient payments accurately and timely (if applicable)
• Work outstanding patient accounts receivables and collections
• Negotiate payment arrangements when needed
• Communicate with patients to explain insurance coverage and answer billing questions
• Ensure patients are billed correctly for services

Job Qualifications:

• Highschool diploma or GED equivalent required, Associate's Degree preferred
• 1 year of insurance verification experience required
• 1 year of medical billing experience required
• 1 year of ICD-10 experience preferred
• Prior EMR experience preferred
