The role reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager and is located in Fort Smith, Arkansas. As a Advanced Manufacturing Tech, you will be working with Manufacturing Engineering on time studies, plant layouts, data collection, process improvement concepts and other duties as assigned.
Your responsibilities
- Perform various engineering tasks and projects in order to gain experience and knowledge
- Participate in lean manufacturing teams
- Design fixtures and program AGV (automated guided vehicles) processes
- Work with communication of PCL’s
- Design layouts of equipment for maximum efficiency
- Conduct time studies
- Data entry and maintenance of engineering items within SAP operating system
- Assist in development of standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation
Your background
- Must be high school graduate by May 2023 or prior. Must have completed at least 1 year of college course work with classes in a manufacturing sector focus
- Requires eligible candidates to be actively enrolled in or previously trained in:Green Belt, 5S, OSHA 10, CNC programming and robotics to be completed by end of 2020.
- Prefer: PLC experience
- Must have worked in a manufacturing environment for at least 1 year
- Strong Mechanical aptitude, solid analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to follow instructions and complete technical task
- Solid technical writing skills
- Proficient with Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry and Microsoft Office Excel
- Fluent in English
- Ability to constructively accept coaching and feedback
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
