DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Responsible to provide supportive services for Housing staff and consumers, assist is overcoming barriers to basic needs (housing, employment, community integration, etc.), provide comprehensive information about agency programs, assist clients with referrals and carrying out their housing stabilization plans to have a successful outcome with housing sustainability. An important aspect of the work is the ability to assist a Housing Caseworker with managing a caseload, to keep client files and records well organized, understandable, current, and compliant with housing grant requirements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Salary: Salary $13.48 / $1,011.00 bi-wkly / $26,387.10 annual. Full-time position (37.5 hours per week).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as an Aging Case Aide 1; or
  • Two years of public contact work, including one year in a human services program; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, or Wayne counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
