Job Summary:


The AIM-9X Program Director will report to the Naval Air Missiles Executive Director. The AIM-9X Director is responsible for performance, cost, and schedule associated with the following activities: production, sustainment, development, growth strategies, warranty, and technical support. This Director is the primary customer and internal interface for all of the aforementioned activities associated with the program. Responsible for overall success of the production, sustainment, and development programs including product affordability, product integrity, on-time deliveries, performance to AOP & EAC and overall program, company, and customer success. Additional areas of responsible include: contract negotiations; identification and resolution of risks and constraints; introduction of new variants and configuration changes into the program; maintaining tight integration with all functional partners to include: operations, finance, supply chain management, quality and mission assurance, and engineering through the vice president-level; affordability and productivity initiatives through supply base, operations, engineering and other functional organizations. Preparation of detailed program reviews, proposals and financial forecasts. Interfaces with suppliers up through the company president level. This position requires strong leadership skills and presence in a complex production, development, proposal, logistics, and customer relations environment.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Strong leadership and technical background coupled with a demonstrated success focusing on the needs of the customer and delivering those needs
  • Lead in a complex teaming environment both internally and with customers
  • Develop, manage and execute program plans within budget and schedule constraints
  • Understanding of missile technologies, production programs, logistics and sustainment, and the DoD acquisition environment
  • Develop and maintain long-term business relationships with current and potential customers and industry partners
  • Lead and manage engineering, qualification, and integration processes
  • Portray strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Lead across diverse teams and broad areas of expertise
  • Lead the development and execution of growth strategies and captures to include international and cross mission area pursuits
  • Lead the program protection and interface with Gov Relations and congressional staffers
  • Working knowledge of export/import (EX/IM) and Security requirement
  • Approximately 30% domestic and international travel


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 14 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and minimum 12 years of relevant experience
  • Experience to include program management experience in production and development
  • Strategy or business growth and/or execution experience
  • Experience managing financials, AOP/EACs, Risk & Opportunities, quality, or schedule performance
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required


Qualifications We Value
:

  • Masters Degree (Science or Management) or applicable experience
  • Program Management Level 3 Certified or Equivalent with ability to obtain PM Certification Level 2 within 1 year
  • Experience with Raytheon Technologies’ PRISM, MOCAS, and/or other MRP systems
  • International program management experience including FMS and DCS
  • Experience with missiles, components of missiles, electronics, and missile subsystems
  • Strong influential communication skills
  • Experience in customer interaction and engagement at the O-6 level and higher and across multiple customer agencies
  • Experience in international customer programs and contracting
  • Knowledge and experience in Congressional affairs
  • Strong leadership and technical background coupled with a demonstrated success focusing on the needs of the customer and delivering those needs
  • Demonstrated success working in a complex teaming environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and execute program plans within budget and schedule constraints
