'This role is responsible for analytical functions and oversight for various functions within Accounting Services including Treasury, Order to Cash, Payroll, Procure to Pay, Inventory Accounting and Cash Management/Treasury. The analyst/accountant participates in special department projects and testing and works in close collaboration with other business partners. The analyst/accountant is responsible for performing processes and researching related to income recognition, billing, and margin. This role ensures the timely execution and accuracy, as well as adherence to any regulatory/compliance obligations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Partners with appropriate business partners to ensure applicable information is gathered and input.
Prepares journal entries and billings and supports general ledger operations. Reconciles and maintains balance sheet accounts. Performs analysis for profit and loss accounts.
Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; analyzes accrual and deferral accounts for appropriate income recognition. Maintains correct general ledger balances for assigned accounts.
Understands and adheres to compliance and regulatory guidelines when applicable.
Assists with monthly closing and preparation of monthly financial statements. Supports quarterly and year-end closings and preparation for annual audit.
Assists with preparation of annual budgets, updates, and strategic plans for assigned areas.
Conducts research, performs analysis and prepares financial reports.
Assists with projects and other duties as assigned.
Key Skills
Strong understanding of accounting theories, methodologies, principles and practices, and the impact of departmental transactions to the financial statements
Knowledge of credit and collections techniques, revenue recognition rules, and general accounting requirements
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Advanced formulas in Excel (lookups, pivot tables, and macros)
Experience with account analysis, budgeting and forecasting
Experience with or ability to use query tools for reporting
Experience with account analysis
Accurate and detail-oriented with excellent follow-through skills
Strong customer service mindset
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate to all levels of management, internal and external business partners, and auditors
Ability to recognize need for and to and recommend changes
Strong business process improvement skills
Team player
Strong organizational skills with ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
Ability to create and effectively deliver training to all levels of the organization
Mainframe, SEGA, ACIS, and DSS MicroStrategy knowledge is helpful
LEAN immersion training preferred
SAP S/4 HANA and Supporting Systems; i.e BPC ( preferred)
CPA (preferred)
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
1-3 Years
Seven+ years of high-volume Inventory or Accounting experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is preferred
