We are a growing specialty foods and consumable products distributor in Syracuse, NY, and are searching for a full-time Application Development Manager. Our family of companies distributes a wide range of specialty dry and frozen grocery items and consumable products out of warehouses in Syracuse, NY, and New Holland, PA.
The Application Development Manager role is a hands-on position to manage our team of developers in the technical design, development, implementation, and support of business applications. The Application Development Manager is responsible for managing the daily work of developers as well as implementing Agile software development practices and works closely with other Information Technology team members to identify and deliver solutions that drive significant value to the organization. This position continues to evaluate existing applications to determine technical changes, schedule resources and monitor project timelines. The Application Development Manager also sets and implements policies and procedures related to application quality standards and testing, ensuring consistent and reliable deliverables.

What You Will Be Doing
- Mentor and develop the IT Application Development team's staff
- Perform all introductory and annual performance reviews for all direct reports and will interview potential candidates for new positions or replacement positions
- Design, develop and implement applications and application enhancements that drive value for our business
- Perform architecture and code reviews; ensuring deployment readiness
- Supports and recommends enhancements to the Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP System Modules that are implemented, while sharing knowledge internally with the rest of the IT department and the user community
- Support an enhance additional software applications used by the organization such as Highjump/Korber WMS and vSync/TrueCommerce EDI solutions
- Work with stakeholders to define business requirements for new initiatives
- Delivers project assignments on time, with documentation and training materials
- Establish and maintain documentation procedures for the Development team
- Resource developers against the Information Technology department backlog
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and consultants
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
- Resolves problems as needed to ensure that customers receive prompt, efficient service in accordance with the IT Solution Center Process
- Assess technical skills, identify training needs and opportunities, and ensure that required materials and tools are available for direct reports to perform their job responsibilities
- Provide off-hours support on a rotating basis as needed
What You Need for this Position
5+ years of development experience with:
- Dynamics GP project experience preferably working as a development lead for at least one global/complex deployment as a senior developer working with large development projects. Dynamics GP Administration and Configuration preferred
- Working with an object-oriented development language (e.g. VB.NET, .NET framework)
- MS SQL Server and working knowledge of database design and SQL (Query Language)
- 2+ years with SSRS
- Experience with SSAS and PowerBI preferred
