Position Details: Full-Time Night Shift St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital Description:

Performs the primary function of protecting the interests and property of the hospital or facility of which assigned. Performs the primary function of service and protection to the hospital's or facility's employees, patients and visitors. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.

Principle Accountabilities: % Of Time Spent

1. Answers and responds to all calls for service or protection. (10%)

2. Provides specific protection to patients, employees and visitors toward the prevention of theft, vandalism and criminal offenses. (10%)

3. Checks premises for obvious safety hazards, including yet not limited to electrical,combustible or mechanical and reports discrepancies to the shift supervisor and prepares a security incident report with regard to initial discoveries and circumstances. (10%)

4. Maintain order in accordance with established policies during actual emergencies or practice drills of fire, disaster or infant abduction. (10%)

5. Observes employee, visitor or patron activities and reports unusual or suspicious acts to the shift supervisor. (10%)

6. Conducts preliminary investigations and prepares reports through oral or written communication involving incidents of loss, theft, vehicular accident, personal injury or any other matter deemed related as a liability or circumstance related to the hospital. (10%)

7. Operates security communications equipment including two way radios, digital pagers,telephones, cellular phones and fax machines. (10%)

8. Assists motorists with minor difficulties to include: lockouts, battery assists and flat tire repair. (10%)

9. Extends assistance, either self-initiated or upon demand, in a courteous and polite manner. (5%)

10. Provide services related to that of a valet parking attendant in servicing medical office building patrons and hospital patients and visitors in complimentary parking. (5%)

11. Performs other work related duties as assigned by or requested. (5%)

Education:
High school diploma or GED required.

License - Certification - Registration (Text Only): Must be able to obtain an Armed Security Officer License from St. Louis County within 60 days or will be separated from employment. Possess a current state driver's license from state of residence with a minimum Class E type license
