Arwood Machine Corporation is seeking an Assembly / Bench Debur Technician for our Newburyport, MA, location.

Job Purpose

As an Assembly/Bench Debur Technician at Arwood Machine in Newburyport, MA, you will assemble finished products; bench deburrs, finish manufactured aerospace products, and pack according to specifications. Great attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity are requirements for this position.

Please note that the Bench Debur Technician position is shift-based: the 1st shift runs from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, and the 2nd shift runs from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.

Key Accountabilities

• Highly Proficient with Assembly tools, especially Heli-coil Installation, Pin Installation, and other critical assembly tasks.
• Bench deburr/finish machine fabricated metal products while maintaining the dimensional integrity of the parts.
• Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds to those specifications.
• Uses various hand tools and held power tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Use bead blaster, deburring shaker, and cleaning station when required.
• Write and assist engineering with the development of assembly and deburring processes.
• Maintain logs or records concerning product inconsistencies.
• Keep the assembly and bench area clean and maintain all equipment in the assigned area.
• Inventory tools, parts, and supplies and contact the supervisor if supplies are needed.
• Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience in a related field.

Preferred

• A recent graduate of an Advanced Manufacturing Technology course of study
• 10+ years of progressive aerospace manufacturing experience
• Experience in Additive Manufacturing
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment
• Strong sense of ownership
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Excited about taking on new challenges and working in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, hands-on, practical mindset

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
• Must use required safety protection when and where required
