Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Assistant Branch Manager works closely with the Branch Manager as a leadership team to ensure the efficient daily operations of the branch, including superior customer service, safety and security, and the sound adherence to operational procedures in accordance with regulatory and bank objectives. The primary objective of the Assistant Branch Manager is to manage and develop the Tellers and New Account Representatives through training, coaching, guidance and staff motivation to perform desired customer service levels and adherence to policies and procedures. The Assistant Branch Manager performs management capacities as directed and in the absence of the Branch Manager.

Additional functions of this position are as follows:

  • Respond to customer inquiries to assist with existing and/or potential bank relationships.
  • Develop and execute action plans to improve operational controls and mitigate controllable losses while providing excellent customer service.
  • Maintain all required documentation to meet compliance and procedural standards.
  • Schedule appropriate staffing levels to ensure expected customer service and security.
  • Be responsible for branch opening and closing as needed.
  • Maintain a cash drawer and perform as Sub-Vault Teller.
  • Completes staff performance reviews.
  • Conducts staff meetings and training session to ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the New Accounts Lead to ensure New Account Representatives performance meets customer expectations while ensuring compliance with all bank regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements include compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

Qualified candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening which includes marijuana per federal law requirements for financial institutions.

Education/Experience

This position requires a minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. It is preferred to have an AA Degree. Additionally, it is preferred to have a minimum of two years management experience of which at least one year is in banking.

Physical demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods; Move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; Occasional lifting/carrying up to 30 lbs; Operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, scanner, and other standard office equipment. The work performed in this position is primarily within an indoor, climate-controlled environment.
