Title: Assistant Controller

Compensation: $150-$160K + Bonus

This Assistant Controller will report directly to the Controller and will manage the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other financial requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Help prepare financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of assigned financial transactions
- Manage the reconciliation of bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records
- Assist in the management of the annual audit and tax filings
- Assist in insurance renewals and audits as needed
- Work with cross-functional teams
- Provide support and review of emerging accounting processes and procedures
- Take part in projects from an accounting perspective
- Research technical accounting issues
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting and financial systems
- Assist in the development and training of team members
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with progressive responsibility and experience in the accounting function
- CPA, MSA, or MBA degree preferred
- Experience in product wholesale, retail, and distribution ideally
- Knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and other financial requirements
- Demonstrated strong technical accounting skills
- Knowledge or experience in cost accounting
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
