Position Summary:
Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) seeks a highly motivated and independent candidate to strategically lead the organization’s foundation engagement program, including all activities related to the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundation partners. This position has one direct report, a Senior Grant Writer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities and execute plan to strategically meet or exceed BGCB’s annual foundation fundraising goal of $1.2M+ by securing funding from private and family foundations.
- Create a strategic plan to increase revenue from existing partners and develop new prospects through proactive outreach, creating a strong pipeline of current and future donors.
- Manage Senior Grant Writer, supervising workflow and working collaboratively toward annual fundraising goals.
- Develop an annual business plan and identify key priorities to present to Senior Director and key BGCB leadership.
- Develop and consistently report upon a set of metrics to track progress and inform success.
- Develop annual revenue and expense projections with a strong focus on return on investment and organizational impact.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of foundations to develop meaningful relationships that strengthen BGCB programs.
- Work collaboratively with Senior Director, Senior Grant Writer, BGCB’s leadership, Club Executive Directors/Staff, and other key stakeholders in the idea creation, program/budget buildout, and execution of letters of interest and grant proposals.
- Oversee and implement stewardship reporting as required, working closely with Evaluation & Outcomes staff to measure and report on program successes.
- Manage (and create) proposal and reporting language templates; collaborate with/assist other Development staff with language as needed.
- Provide strategic support, training, and guidance for Clubs to obtain community-based grants to support local fundraising initiatives. Ensure these efforts are tracked in donor database.

Position Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible fundraising experience with the ability to build and sustain excellent donor relationships and proven success in soliciting gifts.
- Exceptionally strong, demonstrated writing skills, particularly in the area of grant writing.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic plan to meet and exceed fundraising goals.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team.
- Experienced staff manager; ability to delegate effectively, communicate openly.
- Exceptional attention to details.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to make presentations to senior level groups as well as to build one-on-one relationships with members of diverse constituencies at all levels of authority.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills and knowledge of database applications, preferably Raiser’s Edge/NXT.
- Team player with willingness to adapt to new and evolving organizational and funding priorities and to work occasional evenings and early mornings as events and project deadlines dictate.
- Willingness to travel between Main Office and local Clubs and to off-site meetings.
- Self-starter with ability to make decisions independently, while collaborating with colleagues, in a deadline-driven, results-oriented environment.
- Articulate, poised, and calm under pressure.
- Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree or certificate preferred.
- Other duties as required.
Job Type: Full Time
Schedule: 9am- 5pm (Flexibility required)
Pay Rate: up to $89k (Depending on experience and internal equity)
