Position Summary

The Assistant Principal will work harmoniously and effectively with parents, staff members, students, and administrators in accomplishing the goals as set forth by company policy. You will be responsible to the Principal for all aspects of administrative and instructional leadership.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Works collaboratively with the Principal to hire teachers and non-teaching staff, complete interviews, check references and complete/gather all paperwork for HR.

· Will serve as Principal in the absence of the regular Principal.

· Prepare special reports for the Principal.

· Work with school staff in planning, evaluating, and supervising the instructional programs in all areas.

· Make recommendations to the Principal on matters of curriculum and personnel.

· Compile data for reports to state or federal agencies as assigned.

· Assist in conducting safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.

· Participate in School Board Meetings

· Assist in staff and student disciplinary procedures

Confer with students and/or parents regarding discipline, academic progress, co-curricular activities and other matters related to the success of students.

· Monitor student attendance and file truancy when applicable.

· Review student referrals for special activities and/or social services; i.e. attendance, health, clothing, suspensions.

· Assist in curriculum revisions, Benchmark assessments and evaluations.

· Represent the school in community functions as per Principal’s directive.

· Perform record-keeping functions as directed by the Principal.

· Work with parents, faculty and student groups as needed in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.

· Assist the Principal in the overall administration of the school to supervise and evaluate performance of staff.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

· Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county and city statues, rules, policies and procedures.

· The ability to communicate through superior written and oral communications skills.

· Demonstrated ability to provide instructional leadership.

· Demonstrated ability to assess student learning.

· Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.

· Be courteous, professional and tactful at all times.

· Maintain a positive and effective working relationship with students, parents, staff, vendors, the general public, and others who conduct business with the school.

· Serve as a role model who acknowledges through actions and behaviors.

Minimum Qualifications

· Master’s degree in Education or related field required.

· Two years of teaching experience

· Ability to pass a background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
