Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
The primary responsibilities of the Associate Director include oversight of all residential aspects of operations, including summer conferences and residence hall assignments, and creating a vibrant community for residents within university-owned apartments. This position will also lead the efforts around our customer service training with student and professional staff and is responsible for community development, support and oversight of 9 apartment complexes. This position is responsible for all licensing agreements for our 9 apartments and 22 residence halls and will serve as a key member of our emergency response on-call team. This roll will supervise the Assistant Director of Housing Operations as well as a 2 Apartment Reservations Coordinators and part-time student staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a related field which has included at least two (2) years of management experience. A Master's degree in College Student Personnel/Higher Education Administration/Counseling Psychology or a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Two (2) years of relevant residence hall leadership, paraprofessional or group living experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Willingness and ability to keep regular hours and work some evenings and weekends.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to work with students and administrators in a broad range of situations and demonstrate a genuine concern/interest for the welfare of students.
- 2 or more years experience with HMS Odyssey or other Housing Management Systems.
- Experience with conference contracts and operations.
- Experience with key management and oversight.
- Demonstrated communication skills, public relation skills, public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure and the ability to proactively meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of student development and academic success.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student and staff population.
- Experience with administrative functions of student housing, such as working with budgets and occupancy.
- Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
- Demonstrated commitment to and/or experience advocating for diversity.
- Experience and familiarity with WSU policies, processes and systems.

Monthly Salary:
$6,860.00 - $7,708 .00
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
