Job description
We are seeking an experienced Atlassian Admin that will manage the Atlassian application Linux servers supporting our Federal client. Responsibilities include monitoring server health, supporting application and OS upgrades, patching, maintaining and improving the disaster recovery capabilities, and automating processes where possible. Candidate should also possess interpersonal skills to communicate requirements, design, and development to technical team, client, and end-users.
Responsibilities:
- Install and upgrade the Atlassian Suite and plugins on Linux servers to support single sign on, disaster recovery, version upgrades, OS upgrades and cloud migration.
- Test new versions of the tool set to ensure compatibility before deploying to production.
- Monitor the applications for performance and errors in the logs.
- Utilize existing Ansible playbooks to control server configurations and report on server health. Update playbooks as necessary.
- Manage PKI certificates and component configurations pertaining to SSL and Authentication.
- Prepare for and execute failover exercises.
- Writes BASH scripts or Ansible playbooks to automate as many server-side tasks as possible, such as patching, health checks, start / stop of the application server.
- Create new or update existing documentation pertaining to management of Atlassian Servers.
- Support OS patching efforts and mitigate application-level vulnerabilities. Work with infrastructure and security branches for all open vulnerabilities.
- Support external teams that require access to or training on available tool set.
Requirements:
- 4+ years' experience as a Linux admin, or administration of an application running on Linux
- 1+ years' experience with administering the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket is a must-have)
- Experience managing server configurations to comply with security requirements
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (development, security, and infrastructure)
- 3-4 years Linux Administration
- 1-2 years Atlassian Suite server administration (preferably on Linux)
- Experience with Agile processes
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills
