SUMMARY

Savings Bank of Mendocino County has proudly been serving the needs of our communities since 1903 and is seeking a qualified professional for the role of Auditor in the Audit Department. This position involves working with highly confidential information; serving as an Auditor, you will function within all aspects of the auditing environment. Emphasis will be placed on completing Bank operations audits and assisting in the completion of the Bank’s lending audits. This position participates in producing audit documentation and reports.
The Audit Department’s mission is to enhance and protect organizational value by providing stakeholders with independent risk-based, objective, and reliable assurance, advice, and insight.
The ideal candidate has two or more years of experience in banking, finance, health or other highly regulated industry and one year experience in audit or equivalent experience. A successful person in this role is organized; personable; has strong interpersonal and time management skills; and is comfortable interacting with a broad range of individuals, including employees, management, executive officers, and members of the Board of Directors. - Perform, issue, report, and validate banking departments’ compliance and regulatory audits
- Perform, issue, report, and validate banking departments’ operational, lending, and internal policy audits
- Perform FDICIA control testing
- Assist in adapting and evolving audit processes
- Promote organizational improvement and efficiency
- Remain objective, independent, and free from undue influences
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Two years’ experience in banking, finance, health or similar highly regulated industry
- Associate degree in business administration, accounting, finance, mathematics, or English may substitute for the required banking experience
- One year experience in audit or equivalent experience
- Previous experience using Windows-based computers
PREFERENCES
- Associate degree in business administration, accounting, finance, mathematics, or English
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel
- Bilingual skills
- Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills
