Who are we

We are a small specialty coffee shop and bakery based in NYC with one store in East Harlem and one store near Columbia.

We're passionate about coffee and food and about serving our neighborhood with the best products and service that we can. We pride ourselves on making some of the most delicious things in New York City (we have been featured in the NY Times, Eater, Food + Wine, Martha Stewart, Oprah, Serious Eats, and many others) and are looking for someone great to join our team.

Who are you

You are a hard worker who loves to make other people happy, loves to make food, and is good with your hands. You work well with others, are self-motivated, and kind. Maybe you speak Spanish (it's very helpful if you do).

Job description

There are four aspects to working in the kitchen here and you’ll probably learn to do all of them: making donuts; making egg sandwiches; making the other baked goods we sell; doing prep. You will learn to prepare all of our donuts from start to finish, you’ll learn how to run the sandwich station making egg sandwiches; you’ll learn how to make cinnamon rolls, biscuits, scones, and some other stuff; and you'll learn how to prep everything.

Hours

25-30 hours per week, including weekends, 3-4 days per week. Shifts are roughly 530a-130p. Weekend availability is a must.

Growth opportunities exist as we’re looking to add additional locations.

Duties and responsibilities

• You will learn to make the items mentioned above and possibly more;
  Prepare and produce baked goods;
• Fulfill orders;
• Keep pastry rack filled with pastries;
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, walls, and equipment - always inspection ready;
• Manage inventory and product ordering;
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
