JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for preparing and serving hand-crafted, quality beverages. Operate POS machine and credit card machines. Maintains good customer service with quick delivery of all beverages.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

Responsible for taking orders and making coffee, tea and other drinks to customer specifications. Address customer questions or concerns while working to maintain good customer relations and continuing to deliver beverages quickly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greets customers, take orders, mixes and serves hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks, etc. while considering customer specifications.
  • Works to maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of all beverages and food items.
  • Arranges coffee bar/cart supplies and cups/mugs to make attractive displays.
  • Maintains bar/cart and storage area in a neat and sanitary manner.
  • Often cleans coffee machines, restaurant areas, restrooms and preparation areas.
  • Records all sales, collects money, operates a cash register and follows all cash-handling procedures as required.
  • Prepare and sell food items.
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings.
  • Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
  • Complies with all Blackstone Consulting, Inc. HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Attends training programs as designated.
  • Check-in deliveries, unload, open boxes and place in designated areas.
  • Replenish products on shelves in multiple areas.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • High School graduate, or GED required.
  • Must have solid work ethics, dependable and punctual.
  • Good reading and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communicative skills.
  • 6 months – 1year previous work experience.

MINIMUM HIRING STANDARDS

Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., phone)
Must have a reliable means of transportation. Must have the legal right to work in the United States
Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English
Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including background investigation, if applicable.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals. Ability
to write accurate, Ability to communicate effectively with customers, visitors, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, employees and client representatives.

EXPERIENCE

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying:
One year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities.

  • Stand and moves within the kitchen area for 6 to 7 hours (excluding break and lunch periods.)
  • Walks, stands and moves about the coffee shop, kitchen and dining facility to ensure compliance with SOP.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
