Eastern Café opened in 2013 as a gathering place for the community of Seattle’s Chinatown International District neighborhood. It is a space for business, art, neighbors, and friends to gather. Eastern serves up delicious food and pours a variety of fresh beverages all day.

Barista

Main Responsibilities:

● Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.

● Preparing all sandwich ingredients, which includes washing, cutting, slicing, chopping, and grating ingredients according to established guidelines

● Grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.

● Packaging food and beverages for sale.

● Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.

● Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.

● Updating signage and displays to attract customers.

● Replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.

● Working as part of a fun, high-energy team.

● Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.

● Neatly prepare food and beverages according to customers' orders.

● Operating the cash register and handling customers the correct change.

● Explaining menu options to customers as required.

Position Requirements :

● High school diploma or GED.

● MAST Class 12 permit

● A Washington County food handler's license.

● Proven experience working in a fast-food restaurant, deli, or similar environment.

● The ability to follow verbal instructions.

● Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays

● The ability to stand for extended periods of time.

● The ability to work effectively under stress.

● Strong work ethic.

● Excellent communication skills.

● Exceptional customer service skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
