The Clinician will collaborate with individuals receiving services and their interdisciplinary teams to create, execute, track, and modify behavioral support plans. In addition, the Clinician will offer mental health counseling upon request and oversee group therapy sessions. It is the responsibility of the Clinician to guarantee that all behavioral health services aid individuals in achieving their personal goals. The Clinician will also assist in coordinating MANDT and other behavioral health training. This role necessitates meeting the prerequisites of a Direct Support Professional. An LCPC or LCSW-C license and a Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field are mandatory.

Functions considered essential: Behavioral Supports

  • Collaborate with persons supported and their team to develop and monitor behavioral support plans.
  • Evaluate plan effectiveness by reviewing progress notes and graphic representation of data, and revise as necessary at least once a year.
  • Complete necessary assessments for plan implementation, attend scheduled meetings, and provide training to Direct Support Professionals and program teams. Mental Health Counseling
  • Assess mental health related issues and determine appropriate treatment level based on diagnostic criteria.
  • Formulate and implement individualized, person-centered treatment plans, and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling in alignment with evidence-based practices and approved clinical models.
  • Document clinical notes and other required information for electronic medical records.
  • Provide feedback on clinical and diagnostic matters to senior clinical team members. Program Supports
  • Manage the Behavioral Health on-call phone line on a rotating basis.
  • Facilitate MANDT and other behavioral health trainings on a rotating basis.
  • Provide coaching and clinical supervision to Behavioral Technicians as assigned.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and behavioral health quality initiatives and special projects. Other Functions
  • Participate in outreach efforts and cross-sector groups related to Behavioral Health.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, along with an LCPC or LCSW-C license, are mandatory.
  • The applicant should possess three or more years of professional experience in providing behavioral supports and mental health counseling to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • The applicant should have a profound understanding and interest in person-centered planning and self-direction for individuals with disabilities.
  • The applicant should be able to work independently, in ambiguous situations with minimal guidance, proactively addressing issues and focusing on solutions.
  • The applicant should be adaptable, able to remain composed under pressure, and able to adjust to changing circumstances.
  • The applicant should have experience collaborating across cultural, geographical, and programmatic boundaries to positively support the individuals being served.
  • The applicant should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle challenging situations while providing constructive feedback.
  • The applicant should be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and have knowledge of outcome systems.
