Starting Pay: $18.50 per hour
- Verification of benefits for commercial and Medicaid insurance coverage
- Processing of claims and invoices
- Submitting clean electronic and paper claims to insurance companies
- Investigating and correcting rejected claims
- Working the A/R aging report
- Responding to requests for refunds
- Invoicing patient co-pays and deductibles, private pay collections and A/R management
- Monitoring overdue payments and issuing refunds on overpayments
- Making sure all cash receipts are applied accurately and timely
- Providing feedback to programs on how to ensure compliance while maximizing revenue
- 2 years prior work experience in medical billing and accounts receivable (Behavioral Health Preferred)
- Experience with electronic claims filing
- Working knowledge of Windows-based applications
- Hands-on experience with accounting software
- MS Excel and strong analytical skills
- Negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Patience and ability to manage stress and maintain confidentiality
- High School/GED REQUIRED (Associate degree preferred)
