Billing Support Manager

MAIN FUNCTION:
The Manager, Billing Support is responsible for independently managing the billing support functions of the Cooley Dickinson Medical Group (CDMG) Billing Department to ensure the highest standard and best practice of productivity and compliance. The Manager, Billing Support acts as the department’s system administrator in wide ranging knowledge and support of the CDMG billing and related systems and is responsible for the billing support functions for a multi-specialty provider group including coding, electronic claims submission and payment posting functions, reconciliations and reporting, provider credentialing, system maintenance, and collections.
This position reports to the Assistant Director, Billing and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting or a minimum of five years of physician billing experience required. If experience is substituted for bachelor’s, the experience must be current (within the last three years)
- Previous experience as a supervisor or manager preferred
- CPC Certification required within six months of hire
- Knowledge of insurance contracting principles, reimbursement, terms, and conditions required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word required
- Familiarity with relational database queries and reporting required
