Caladwich Consulting is interviewing for a contingent position as a Sr. BioMedical Electronic Technician (BMET) in support of the 2d Medical Logistics Company (2d MEDLOGCO), 2nd Supply Bn, CLNC who is experienced in providing the technical support across a variety of biomedical equipment. Candidate will have a high level of experience with the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), a system that is entirely unique to the Department of Defense Health Service (DoDHS) and its entities.

Candidates should be competent in the use of all applicable test equipment and tools required in the performance of these duties. The BMET may serve as technical advisor to the medical and clinical staff in the safe operation and use of clinical equipment. This position also assists in developing specifications for the selection of new clinical equipment.

Core Responsibilities:

• Complete task associated with the preventative maintenance, calibration of therapeutic, diagnostic, or life support biomedical instruments.
• Evaluate biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and perform planned maintenance and safety and environmental inspections to support our customers’ ability to deliver healthcare.
• Perform electrical safety test on biomedical instruments using specialized test equipment to include documenting new therapeutic and diagnostic equipment, corrective maintenance actions, and special request as recommended by equipment manufacturers.
• Maintain Medical Logistics Information Technology (e.g. DMLSS) equipment records for all medical equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and calibration data.
• Maintain proper care of tools and test equipment to ensure calibration and ability to deliver timely and accurate repairs and maintenance to our customers.
• Identify and report all customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization to ensure services are provided with the highest ethical standards.
• Provide technical assistance to and instruction to 2D Medical Logistics Company personnel and end users in the operation and maintenance of biomedical instruments.
• Make necessary calculations for computing circuit elements necessary to specified requirements.
• Improve or make test setups to conduct functional checks of medical electronic test equipment.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in DMLSS equipment modules.
• Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions by performing repairs or replacements to ensure that biomedical instruments and internal circuitry meet specified requirements.

Requirements/Service qualifications:

• Associates of Science (AS) / Biomedical technology or equivalent level of experience (Required)
• BS or MS in associated field preferred
• 5+ years in Biomedical Equipment Technology
• 2+ years in applying biomedical and electronics principles
• 2+ years in DMLSS
• Must have a high level of competence in repair of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and/or computer medical technology to sufficiently diagnose and repair devices and systems.
• The ability to become a certified Biomedical Equipment Technician by the International Certification Commission
