Summary

Prepares bread, rolls, muffins, bagels, etc according to recipe by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Must be able to prepare baked goods such as pastries, breads, cakes and cookies in large quantities. The Bread Baker must be detail-oriented and have an eye for aesthetics, as baked goods must look appealing. Must ensure that recipes are prepared according to recipe standards in size and ingredients.
• Checks production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake.
• Responsible for helping the Bakery Manager oversee inventory which involves ordering and rotating ingredients such as flour, sugar and butter; it also involves receiving and unloading deliveries.
• Tracking inventory by calculating the proper amount of ingredients necessary for production of baked goods on a given day or week. As such, math skills are required.
• Assist in keeping an eye on demand for each kind of pastry to know how much to supply.
• Measures and mixes ingredients to form dough or batter by hand or using electric mixer.
• Cuts dough into uniform portions with knife or divider.
• Molds dough into loaves or desired shapes.
• Places pans of dough to rise.
• Inserts pans of raised dough in oven to bake.
• Bakes items according to company recipes.
• Adjusts drafts or thermostatic controls to regulate oven temperature.
• Removes baked goods from oven and places goods on cooling rack.
• Keeps work area and equipment clean at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
