Job Details:

The Cardiac Services Manager assists and facilitates the management and activities of the Stroke and AMI Program, STS and ACC/NCDR, GWTG data collection and management inclusive of budgetary, regulatory and quality compliance. This position is responsible for quality activities related to coordination of care and care delivery for the patient population. In addition, the Cardiac Service Manager is responsible for organizing and administering the Stroke/AMI program and ensuring maintenance of appropriate registry submission.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists and facilitates management of the Stroke and AMI Programs and data collection as it relates to quality registries including but not limited to STS for CT Surgery and ACC/NCDR, AHA/ASA-GWTG, Cath/PCI, TVT-TAVR/MitraClip, LAAO, NYS PCIRS and CSRS.
  • Collaborates with Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Neurologists, other physicians and members of the health care team to plan, organize and deliver identified services to achieve desirable patient service and care outcomes.
  • Assures adherence to The Joint Commission, local, State and Federal regulatory, hospital and professional organizations requirements as it pertains to accreditation, practice, quality, certification and registry.
  • Monitors registry compliance and accurate, timely submissions of data.
  • Supervises the preparation and constant readiness of the department for certification and or regulatory agency visits, with on site presence during these surveys.
  • Maintains records of patient services for internal committee review and external use by affiliated health service organizations.
  • Participates in all quality initiatives, process improvement projects, to include departmental quality initiatives and external registry and quality programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Cardiology, Neurology and or Cath/EP Lab required. New York State RN licensure required. Current BLS and ACLS required.

EDUCATION:

BSN required. MSN/MBA preferred.
