Dennis Moffitt Painting of Wakefield, RI is on the hunt for a Chief Operating Officer to plan, direct and oversee the company's day to day operational policies, rules, initiatives and goals.
This role supports the organization by executing long-term and short-term plans and directives by implementing judgment, vision, management and leadership. This role works with the President and Vice President to plan for future growth, developing annual project plans and hiring plans to support projected growth. This position is expected to be proficient at delegation, coaching and providing feedback to operational managers.
This is a full-time job that offers a $100,000 to $130,000 salary a year and enjoys great benefits and perks including Medical and Dental Insurance, Unlimited Vacation, and a 401k among other benefits. Strategy and Leadership:
- Provide effective and inspiring leadership, ensuring all staff in operational departments are aware of DMP vision, annual goals and have a line of sight to the goals
- In partnership with the President and Vice-President, create the strategic five-year plan and implement new processes and approaches to achieve it
- Determine and lead the process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization
- Ensure that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of DMP
Operations Oversight:
- Maintain continuous lines of communication on status of operations, keeping the President and Vice-President informed of all critical issues
- Ensures revenue goals are achieved by maintaining an adequate level of field employees and keeping the organization apprised of status against production goals
- Closely track divisional area KPIs
- Ensure all changes in ongoing jobs are accurately and timely recorded
- Provides Executive team with management reports indicating the success of field operations
- Closely analyzes and manages all factors impacting gross profit
- Develop a delegation, coaching and feedback approach for all direct reports
- Works with Director of Training (part of HR department) on delivering effective training programs to new hires
- Lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout the program and service areas, focusing on systems/process improvement
- Tracks and coordinates timing on all existing projects, ensures adequate timing and resource management
- Manages operational areas accordingly; Determine and lead the process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization
- Ensure that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of DMP annual budget
- Conducts monthly analysis of P&L, BS and KPI's in coordination with CFO
- Maintain accessibility to all staff
- Provide the staff of DMP with a strong day-to-day leadership presence, bridging all internal departments
- Manages information technology function through vendor management and implementation and maintenance of advanced technologies
- Negotiates contracts with vendors
- Designs efficient systems, encourages team members to look for ways to design efficient systems
- Sets weekly team meetings for Field Management team, determines agenda and facilitates discussion, tracks ongoing issues
- Manages the safety programs in the company, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive safety training and maintaining a strong safety culture
Team Development:
- Lead a high performing team of directors to the next level by creating development plans for strategic team members
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality and service
- Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, coordinate training programs, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments
- Sets monthly meetings of all direct reports to review successes and challenges of their individual divisions/departments/regions
- Explores new technologies for operational efficiencies
