Position Title: Journey Queens Children’s Director

Position Details: Paid position, 20/hrs per week

Directly Report to: Lead Pastor

Role: The Journey Kidz Director is responsible for overseeing the Journey Queens Children’s Ministry and ensuring a safe and effective Sunday program that gives every child an opportunity to grow closer to
Jesus.

Duties:

Sunday (8:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
● Set up and teardown Journey Kidz area and materials

● Coordinate with JKidz Volunteers

● Facilitate Sunday kid’s program

● Maintain stock of any needed supplies

Weekly (15 hours, in-person and telecommute)
● Prepare and plan for weekly Journey Kidz program, including lessons, crafts, connection cards, worship, and whichever elements are needed for any particular Sunday

● Coordinate and schedule Journey Kidz volunteers to maintain a safe and proper child-to-adult from week to week

● Connect with Journey Kidz parents and families for pastoral and practical support

● Maintain Journey Kidz family information and keep it updated on our church database

● Stay connected with Journey Kidz leaders, regularly supporting and praying for them

● Send out “Welcome” emails to parents of First Time Kids

● Follow up with potential volunteers via email or phone and set meeting to evaluate

● Purchase and maintain any needed materials/supplies

Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly
● Invest in Journey Kidz Volunteer Team by planning bi-annual Leader Appreciation/Training events, aimed to thank and equip leaders.

● Maintain Journey Kidz budget and submit reimbursement requests on time

● Special events such as Easter, Summer Kids Week, Child Dedication, Fall Kickoff, and any kids or family-oriented events throughout the year

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Forest Hills, NY 11375: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Ministry: 1 year (Preferred)
