We are currently recruiting for a Civil/Structural Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • The primary role of the Engineer I will be to travel as necessary (~25%) to perform engineering inspections on lattice towers, steel poles, and associated concrete foundations. The inspection task will typically include the following:
    • Visual assessments with the taking of physical measurements at the ground line of the structure.
    • Writing engineering inspection scopes of work, inspection reports, and restoration recommendation documentation.
    • Design of the restoration solutions which include drawing and calculation development.
  • The secondary role of the Engineer I will be to support in office tasks, which may include:
    • Prepare engineering reports and technical documents.
    • Interacting with operations crews via phone, email, and web as necessary to support the Structural Steel Services team.
    • Performing calculation and drawing preparation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (civil, structural) from an accredited program.
    • Mechanical engineering backgrounds may also qualify based on experience.
  • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination and certification as an Engineer In Training (EIT).
  • Prior experience with the testing of concrete, steel, or soils; experience detailing utility structures a plus.
  • Availability to travel overnight (~25%), usually for time periods no longer than 2 to 3 days.
