Duties And Responsibilities

• Review, process and conclude assigned claims including investigation and evaluation Non-Standard Personal Lines Auto Claims.
• Review and interpret policies, coverage determination.
• Oversee and direct outside investigative service providers.
• Maintain an ongoing diary.
• Continually assess exposure and evaluate for accurate reserves and settlement recommendation.
• Prepare Loss Reports providing thorough analysis of liability and damages.
• Where applicable, determine if subrogation and/or risk transfer exists and initiate recovery efforts at the direction of the client.
• Document all correspondence, reports, discussions and decisions in the claim file record.
• Provide outstanding service to the client.
• Assist Supervisors and Claim Department with requested tasks or special projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Claims Adjuster

• 2+ years prior experience in a similar role is strongly preferred
• Superior communication skills are essential for success in this role as you will be responsible for meeting with everyone from claimants to lawyers and witnesses
• Analytical thinking skills are needed in order to properly evaluate complex claims
• A strong attention to detail is necessary as claims adjusters must carefully review documents and policies
• Solid writing skills are an asset as you will be responsible for creating claim reports
• Skill and experience with negotiations
• Ability to speak a second language is an asset
• Sound computer skills or the ability to quickly learn new software
• A strong work ethic and time management skills in order to efficiently handle a large caseload

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $51,914.00 - $56,215.00 per year
