Introduction
The Wisconsin Supreme Court is seeking candidates for the Clerk of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals position. This key management role offers a challenging work environment, competitive salary commensurate with experience and excellent fringe benefits.
Position Summary
LOCATION: The position is headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin.
SALARY: Starting salary will be $90,952 to $111,993 annually, with a State of Wisconsin benefits package.
Job Details
1) The selected individual will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the records management system for the Wisconsin Supreme Court and Court of Appeals; 2) Will plan, organize and coordinate all administrative activities of the Clerk’s Office; 3) Will draft court orders and record petitions for changes in rules and statutes; 4) Will maintain the roll of attorneys and coordinate admissions; 5) Will supervise all Clerk’s Office staff.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications– 1) Work experience and/or substantial coursework in legal recordkeeping (including electronic recordkeeping) and clerical processes; 2) Experience and/or coursework in management including in-depth knowledge and practice of supervisory techniques, budget and financial management, and an understanding of rules and procedures in court process; 3) Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred – 1) A Bachelor’s degree and court management experience or JD degree; 2) Working knowledge of Supreme Court Rules, appropriate statutes and court procedures; 3) Proven success at leading a team in the provision of excellent customer service.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1) Employment will require a criminal and fiduciary background check.
