Kona Kai Resort & Spa is a boutique urban resort located on beautiful Shelter Island. With 170 guestrooms, Kona Kai is home to Vessel Restaurant + Bar, SpaTerre, a marina and a private club, all located just minutes from downtown San Diego. We are currently seeking a dynamic Club Membership Sales Manger who has a passionate for sales and hospitality!
The Job:
The Club Membership Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting, advertising, marketing, soliciting, attending tradeshows, local associations and member prospecting events, along with any activities pertaining to selling new Club Memberships; up to and including cold calling telephonically, electronically and in-person, and/or retention of current members to avoid membership cancellation(s).
Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Meet with and close new member prospects.
- Contact all prospects and follow-up with website membership inquiries.
- Coordinate new member prospect tours of Kona Kai Resort & Spa.
- Contact new homeowners in the community to discuss membership opportunities.
- Continually follow-up and communicate with prospects via phone and email.
- Develop and implement an effective sales plan.
- Execute designated sales strategies to develop and solicit specific accounts to achieve revenue goals; up to and including monthly and quarterly action plans with costs and estimated ROI in a proactive manner, as defined by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Understand accounting principles related to expenses specific to the Kona Kai Club.
- Execute administrative member maintenance functions required for/by members.
- Provide support when needed to the club member operations team in relation to member related events if/when called upon.
Reports to: Director of Sales and Marketing
Key Relationships: Club Experiences Manager, Recreation Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Finance, General Manager as well as all inter-related departmental managers and team members.
Requirements:- High school diploma or GED; 2 years' experience in sales and marketing, member services, front desk, or related professional area.
- Able to communicate effectively as appropriate for the needs of your audience.
- Advanced computer skills
- Sales & Marketing: Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategies and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Ability to prioritize, organize work assignments and follow-up.
- Ability to promote positive relationships with members and colleagues.
- Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision even under pressure.
- Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgement.
- Ability to input and access information into a computer.
- Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding situations.
- Ability to entertain clients during lunch and/or dinner hours.
- Ability to prospect new sales opportunities.
