Join our team of professionals in the commercial roofing estimating department. The Senior Estimator assembles cost estimates on projects ranging from $100,000 to $5,000,000. This professional estimator must be able to competitively price both public and private work. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an estimator in the commercial roofing industry and must be organized, motivated, detail-oriented, and driven. Being able to keep on-task and work independently is a must. This is a great opportunity to continue a career with an industry leader.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Primary duty is to determine overall pricing for commercial reroofing projects.

• Complete take-offs from bid documents, Scopes of Work, field notes, and other pertinent sources. Primary take-off tool is Roof CAD.

• Solicit material quotes from manufacturers and suppliers.

• Communicate with sales department to develop Scopes of Work and recommend best practices.

• Communicate with architects, engineers, and consultants.

• Complete base estimate and options. Primary pricing tool is customized Excel spreadsheets.

• Provide value engineering ideas.

• Review pricing with estimating manager/upper management.

• Assist in compiling bid package and sales binders.

• Compile customized production package for jobs sold.

• Stay current with industry standards, processes, and techniques.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5 years minimum experience in commercial roof estimating

• Knowledge of single ply, modified bitumen, asphalt, shingle, and standing seam assemblies.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.

• Roof CAD knowledge a plus.

• Most project documents are viewed, altered, and distributed electronically. Proficiency with technology is a must.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Must be extremely organized and multitask oriented.

• Attention to detail and the ability to recognize discrepancies.

• Independent thinker.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

• Positive work ethic.
