The Communications and IT Manager works closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the director team to implement the council communications and IT strategy. In partnership with the CEO, he/she provides communications leadership, direction, and implementation for the organization. The Communications and IT Manager is responsible for leading the communications efforts which include: writing and publishing the monthly newsletter, maintaining and updating the website and social media channels, and assuring that new media and brand standards are implemented in accordance with best practices and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) guidelines.

  • Able to work independently with minimal oversight, effectively manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines, take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant course of study, or equivalent experience. Communications and public relations experience or education is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Creative and strong design skills and ability to work quickly under deadline.
  • Excellent decision making and critical thinking skills. The ability to identify a problem, assess the situation, draw on available resources and form a plan of action.
  • Efficiency using Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Efficiency using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Publisher, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating System and Dell computers.
  • Familiarity with CSS language.

You Will:

  • Contribute to the overall success of the organization.
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends, air travel may be involved.
  • Sit at a desk and work on a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Manually operate office equipment.
  • Lift and carry at least 35 lbs.
  • Complete an annual background check.
