ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for an Engineer or an Engineer III to join our talented team that will focus on maintaining and growing all our networks across the different business areas and data centers at LES.
In the Engineer role, you will gain experience in small projects under the guidance of Senior Engineers. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and learn from the best. Don't be too worried about knowing everything on the list below. If you have a good troubleshooting skill and a desire to learn, our team of Engineers can teach you the rest.

In the more seasoned Engineer III role, you will bring your expertise and skills to our team. We value your experience, and we are also ready to support you in any areas where you may need more training. You will be responsible for leading mid to large scale projects. You will also be an escalation point for more in depth technical issues.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Engineer ($78,802 - $98,503) - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Internship preferred

Provides engineering support including analysis, design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of telecommunication systems, private networks, and technical services for both IT and OT environments. Specific duties include designing and leading small to medium scale projects, supervising consulting services, material selection, bid evaluations, preparation of feasibility studies, and creating/updating specifications for associated telecommunication equipment. Acts as on-call Engineer as assigned outside normal working hours. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

  • Maintains the planning, design, analysis, construction, commissioning, integration, installation, operation, and optimization of telecommunication systems and private networks.
  • Leads projects throughout the lifecycle of the project for data center networks, campus networks, DMZ networks, external networks, transport networks, fiber optic networks, radio networks, network security, DAS system, Wireless system, VoIP system, and communication towers.
  • Implements new telecommunication schemes, network schemes and proposed system changes to determine their effect on existing systems.
  • Implements engineering standards, standard materials, specifications, policies, procedures and guidelines for LES systems and applications.
  • Updates design prints for the OT networks and Visio designs for the IT networks.
  • Assists with emergency routines, system additions, regulatory compliance, system modifications, and licensing.
  • Assists with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving network problems.

Engineer III ($90,624 - $113,280) - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and at least three years of progressively responsible engineering experience in area of assignment. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Provides engineering support including analysis, design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of telecommunication systems, private networks, and technical services for both IT and OT environments. Specific duties include designing and leading medium to large scale projects, supervising consulting services, material selection, bid evaluations, preparation of feasibility studies, and creating/updating specifications for associated telecommunication equipment. Acts as on-call Engineer as assigned outside normal working hours. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

  • As subject matter expert, trains and develops lower-level staff to include providing guidance and advice, setting deadlines, and monitoring of work.
  • Plans, designs, analyzes, commissions, integrates, installs, operates, and optimizes telecommunication
  • systems and private networks.
  • Leads medium to large scale projects throughout the lifecycle of the project for data center networks, campus networks, DMZ networks, external networks, transport networks, fiber optic networks, radio networks, network security, DAS system, Wireless system, VoIP system, and communication towers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Our team is located together at our new LES campus located at 9445 Rokeby Rd, Lincoln NE. A typical work week would be reporting to your primary work location at the Rokeby Campus and doing remote work from there to all our LES sites. From time to time you will leave the office to work on gear at our datacenters or other work locations usually related to projects taking place.
