Job description

West Hills Learning Center is looking for someone who enjoys cooking and preparing basic meals and snacks for children ages 12 months through 6 years old.

You would be required to:

Prepare 2 snacks and lunch daily for over 100 children following the menu in place.

Must have or obtain a current Food Handler's Permit.

Must be enrolled in the Early Learning Division's Central Background Registry.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Must be able to stand for 6 hours a day.

Must be able to sustain long-periods of repetitive motions involved with cutting, chopping, peeling foods, loading and unloading sanitizer.

Must be able to keep, order and maintain inventory levels within the monthly budget.

Through observation of food service, evaluate menus and food service in classrooms on a regular basis and adjust portions as needed.

Cleaning of the kitchen and equipment; assures that standards of sanitation and safety are met. Wash and sanitize classroom dishes/cups/utensils.

Ability to relate effectively with children, families, community members, and staff of diverse backgrounds on a daily basis.

Ability to set priorities and use good judgement and work independently and take initiative.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
