While Palmer's Home Care's home office is located in Columbia, MO, we are looking to hire a Direct Support Professional for both part-time and full-time schedules to care for and support individuals with disabilities in the mid-Missouri area. This entry-level DSP position earns a competitive wage up to $18.00 per hour, depending on experience and shift.

Shift Information:

This position is for our Hillsdale day program. We hire for both part-time (less than 30 hours per week) and full-time (30+ hours per week) DSP positions.

Job description:

As a Direct Support Professional, you are the smile and the helping hand that makes the difference in the lives of the individuals we serve. Health and safety are your number one priority as you provide care and help people with disabilities live their best lives as independently as possible.

• Assist with life activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, hygiene maintenance, and support of fun social activities such as games, outings, and general transportation.
• General record-keeping.
• Follow Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) according to everyone's abilities, interests, and needs.
• Empower individuals in building self-esteem and self-improvement in clients.

Qualifications For a Direct Support Professional:

• Ability to pass a Family Care Safety Registry screening
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, such as lifting 50+ lbs.
• Valid Class E driving license
• Ability to complete all required training and certifications within 90 days of hire
