Job Title: Pharmacy Suspicious Order Monitoring Supervisor

Position Summary

Responsible for oversight and management of the Suspicious order Monitoring (SOM) program for the Peyton distribution centers distributing controlled substances as well as other similar programs implemented and at the discretion of the Corporate Health and Wellness Compliance department. Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in the area of SOM and act as a liaison between Logistics, Health and Wellness, Compliance and Kroger Technology departments. Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee strategy and management of activities related to the SOM program for the Peyton's warehouses that distribute controlled substances
  • Ensure compliance with 21 C.F.R 1301.74(b) regarding all SOM activities, documentation, recordkeeping and reporting requirements as mandated by federal and state law
  • Oversee the maintenance and execution of SOM policies and procedures and the development of training for SOM Analyst team and other key stakeholders as necessary
  • Combine data and process knowledge and apply statistical methodologies to identify and describe behaviors, trends and exceptions that may need intervention
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team including Compliance, Health and Wellness leadership and the Law Department in defining broader SOM strategies
  • Track and manage new and changing Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and state regulations by implementing appropriate strategies and policies and procedures
  • Provide regular status reports regarding trends, exceptions and areas of risk to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Represent the company in regulatory and industry meetings, as needed, with vendors, State Boards of Pharmacy, government regulatory agencies and standardization organizations to ensure compliance with all applicable laws
  • Develop business requirements for SOM-related programs, as required
  • Communicate with and make recommendations to the Corporate Health and Wellness department Compliance department, Logistics and Kroger Technology teams regarding SOM systems and resources, as needed
  • Oversee and deliver all training and orientations to SOM analysts; provide developmental training
  • Travel independently to off-site locations when needed
  • Maintain flexibility to work any shift, including weekends
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports

Minimum Position Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years pharmacy or pharmaceutical distribution industry experience
  • Any Kroger retail or division office pharmacy experience
  • Any Suspicious Order Monitoring or similar transaction monitoring or exception reporting experience
  • Ability to work successfully across all organizational levels
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills
  • Exceptional analytical skills with regards to interpreting and identifying trends
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
