Job description

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial aspects of various construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performing monthly closings with finance staff and reviews with the construction team
• Day to day maintenance of individual project budgets, cost to date and cost to complete
• Monthly cost reporting and forecasting
• Reviewing lender pay application packages
• Review and approval of construction expenditure purchase orders
• Assist in maintenance and issuance of purchase orders, change orders and pay applications
• Monthly review of soft costs, personnel general conditions and reimbursements
• Review non-subcontract budgets vs. cost to date
• Prepare schedule of values
• Run monthly accounting meetings with site specific construction team
• Set up new projects within project accounting system
• Ensuring a smooth project cash flow by auditing, reporting, and summarizing projects in full
• Assist with updating the project schedule
• Management of project accountant to ensure that deadlines are met

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Experience in Construction Accounting preferred
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Foresight to predict problems before they develop
• A conscientious attitude towards controlling costs

• Can pass a drug test and criminal background check.
• Are legally eligible to work in the United States.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
