Courtyard Bar & Grille Cook – Part Time
Wilson Creek Winery is a family-owned winery in the heart of Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country known for its quality wines and warm hospitality. Wilson Creek Winery & Vineyards is currently looking for a part-time/temporary Accounts Payable Administrator in Temecula, CA.
Position Summary:
Under minimal supervision, the Courtyard Bar & Grille cook is responsible for preparing items accurately and efficiently at our grab and go Courtyard Bar & Grille.
This is a part-time, on-site role in Temecula, California.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepares a variety of sandwiches, salads, wraps and other food items for cooking in ovens, grills, fryers, etc.
- Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
- Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, food warmers and refrigeration equipment.
- Prepares items for grilling, frying, smoking or other cooking methods by portioning, seasoning, and/or marinating.
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
- Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.
- Assists in and ensures completion of food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
- Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, or Lead Cook
What It Takes To Succeed
- You have a minimum of six (6) months’ experience in a similar capacity
- Experienced in kitchen preparation and cooking.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and service staff.
- Must be able and willing to obtain a Riverside Food Handler’s Certificate within one (1) week of hire.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, wrists, arms, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is on occasion required to stand and walk on stairs, grass, and the entire property of the winery. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in typical conditions of a restaurant kitchen with equipment such as walk in refrigeration units, commercial ovens, stove tops and grills. Prep stations to include working with knives and other possibly dangerous kitchen utensils and appliances. Noise level is usually moderate. Employees may encounter wet floors and extreme temperatures.
