Role:

The Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for the completion of analytical tasks associated with underwriting and monitoring of the Commercial Loan Portfolio. The responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the preparation of corporate and personal financial statement spreads, global cash flow analyses, monthly borrowing base testing, and the tracking and monitoring of the Commercial Loan Portfolio. The monitoring may include, but is not limited to, credit policy exceptions and covenant compliance. The Analyst works closely with our Chief Lending Officer, the Vice President of Commercial Services, and other employees within both Credit Administration and Commercial Lending. Work is varied in nature with changing priorities. Incumbent applies knowledge of commercial lending principles and technologies to work performed. Works under limited supervision and in compliance with established policies, procedures and regulations. The Analyst supports loan and revenue growth through identification and management of risk and recommending solutions to minimize risk.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

» 3-5 years current and related experience in a credit union/banking environment

» Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).

» Personal Computer proficiency - including Microsoft and Windows applications.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

» Knowledge of credit reporting and lending practices

» Experience with banking/financial/lending operating system(s) strongly recommended

» Strong verbal and written communication skills.

» A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and

tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or

sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside

contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies

and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell

ideas or services to others.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

» Spreads and analyzes business and personal financial statements and tax returns, accounts

receivable and payable aging, inventory reports, third party appraisal reports, and related

material. Determines cash flow using appropriate software and cash flow models. Analyzes

financial conditions, industries, and trends.

» Conducts credit investigations and analyzes credit information pertaining to loans. Investigates

all available sources of credit and financial information, including reporting services, credit

bureaus, other companies, main office files, and branches.

» Collects financial information and performs covenant monitoring and testing. Ensures that all

credit files include proper documentation including current financial statements, agency reports,

etc. Reviews and reports non-compliance with loan covenants. Completes annual loan reviews,

risk grades, and problem loan reports.

» Conducts industry research and assists with special projects as assigned.

» Other duties as assigned.
