Founded in 1948 by John Pridgeon and Donald Clay, we are one of the largest independent, value-added manufacturers and suppliers of automotive stamped and fine-blanked components in the United States.
Objective: The Customer Service Representative provides assistance to Pridgeon & Clay customers, assisting them with their production needs in an exemplary manner according to the company quality policies
Qualified candidates will possess the following Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree
- Proficiency in MS Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to effectively and professionally interact with internal and external customers
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to function in a stressful environment while handling different requests from multiple customers
- An excellent work record, including attendance
Outstanding candidates will possess the following Desired Requirements:
- Experience in the automotive industry
- Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (QAD specifically)

Essential Functions:
Customer Service:
- Review customer orders, and change requests through EDI, web-based portals, and spreadsheets, and update into Pridgeon & Clay's ERP system.
- Determine delivery implications and resolve problems or concerns meeting customer demand. When needed, be able to negotiate with the customer regarding the responsibility of premium freight.
- Evaluate critical orders and inventory shortages and assign priorities. Communicate needs to production/scheduling and distribution center.
- Participate in meetings/trips to customer facilities, along with Account Managers, to establish, build and maintain strong, personal customer relations.
- Participate in customer specific teams to provide input and strategies that focus on both Pridgeon & Clay's and the customer's needs and concerns.
- Work with Account Managers on contract review. Assist Accounts Receivable department on pricing and/or invoice discrepancies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Shipping:
- Proactively work with Pridgeon & Clay's distribution centers to ensure all paperwork has been completed as directed by our customers.
- Learn, understand and utilize guidelines/requirements for international shipments and the necessary paperwork.
- Review and interact with customer's logistical websites and providers on an on-going basis. Ensure window times, shipment weights, and customer's basic shipment information is met. Relay all pertinent information to distribution center.
- Call trucking companies to obtain quotes for standard and expedited shipments, when needed.
Organization/Communication/Professionalism:
- Participate in, and support lean initiatives, continuous improvement and problem solving events, identifying and eliminating all types of waste.
- Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area and 5S zone.
- Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies and procedures including ISO, IATF 16949, and safety regulations.
- Effectively communicate with co-workers and management personnel to enhance teamwork and communication initiatives.
- Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback of all pertinent information to co-workers and management.
- Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.
- Accept instructions and duties in a positive manner.
- Treat all co-workers with dignity and respect.
- Assist in maintaining company values (Integrity, People, Customers, Ownership, We Can If..., Safety) daily, through thoughts and actions.
