Established in 2011, International Air Tool Company is a San Marcos, California based industrial distributor specializing in high performance pneumatic tools. We distribute tools and supplies that manufacturers use to build products used in everyday life.

We are a very small (as in a 4 to 5 other person) company that is privileged to represent some large world class brands.

As an e-commerce, export, and traditional sales company, our business is a hybrid of offline and internet-based sales. We serve customers located throughout California, Baja Mexico, all over the USA, and around the globe!

What You Will Do Here:

Industrial distribution is a highly transactional, high volume, and fast paced business. We are looking for a fast, focused, and accurate Customer Service Professional, who can effectively organize their workload and help smooth our operations. Make no mistake about it, this is hard work... Here is what a typical day looks like:

  • Customer Service and Relationship Management - Respond to incoming calls and emails from customers, prospects, and re-sellers, requesting price, availability, and order status.
  • Quoting - Prepare competitively priced, but profitable sales quotations by accurately calculating costs, sell prices, and gross margins on products sold.
  • Order Entry and Returns - Process our customer's hard copy purchase orders and online e-commerce orders. Create credit memos and issue refunds.
  • Order Status - Quickly respond to customers and follow up with vendors regarding the status of open sales orders and purchase orders.
  • Ship and Receive Packages - Help receive, sort, and ship parcels to customers located locally, nationally, and abroad.
  • Sourcing - Research, locate and quote hard to find tools and consumables.
  • Collaboration - Communicate and work with the other members of our small team located in San Marcos, remotely, and in Tijuana.
  • Expediting - Expedite open sales orders and purchase orders by blocking off time to working open order reports weekly.
  • Debrief and Train - Debrief, strategize, and train with the owners of the company daily. Attend supplier provided training monthly.

We are looking for someone upbeat, detail oriented, and reliable with a steady history of employment. The following experience and personality traits will help you succeed in this very important role:

  • Proactivity and Problem-Solving Abilities - An unshakeable work ethic and the ability to think outside the box to come up with solutions to everyday problems
  • Communication Skills - Excellent written (email) and verbal (phone) communication skills.
  • Basic Business Math Skills – You must be able to calculate discounts off of list price and gross profit margins using basic division and multiplication.
  • Patience and Composure - Cool, calm, and collected under pressure (it gets very busy here).
  • Experience - 5+ years’ experience in customer service, inside sales, purchasing, or operations preferably in a distribution company or similar.
  • Optimism - A positive attitude and pleasant disposition are mandatory.
  • Flexibility - Willingness to work within a very small company with few employees, located onsite and remotely
  • Independence - The ability to autonomously "dig in" and make decisions to find solutions to everyday challenges
  • Team Player - Openness to sometimes do tasks that are not part of your daily routine and "wear many hats" for the good of the team
  • Focus - A tolerance for repetitive tasks (quotes, sales orders, purchase orders, status checks)
  • Education - A college degree or some college is a plus
  • Language Skills - Bilingual English Spanish preferred.
