Dir of Master Data Management and Data Quality, this position person will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of data in the data ecosystem, diving governance initiatives across the organization and spearheading the adoption and usage of Data Products. This role is expected to interface with Brand, Field Force, Customer Engagement as well as Data, Insights and Analytics stakeholders, Legal, ERC etc.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Build on Vision and Strategy to develop a roadmap for a data quality management framework for SDP data products
  • Liaise with Franchises, Analytics teams, Field Force Operations, Reporting, Data Enablement, Master Data Management and other stakeholders to ensure clarity of business needs, and how data is consumed and utilized
  • Collaborate closely with Master Data and Data Enablement and Reporting teams to drive the design of DQ checks for new implementations and upgrades
  • Lead and drive the implementation of DQ dashboards across data products to identify data anomalies early; conduct timely communication with key stakeholders on data issues and develop tactical and strategic mitigation steps.
  • Partner with Brand, Finance, Analytics and other functional areas to understand data challenges and orchestrate governance procedures to ensure issues are identified early and mitigated. Working closely with data enablement teams, ensure fit for use of data available for Analytics, Finance and Sr. leadership in analytics dashboards
  • Lead for setting up data governance council that will define policies and procedures for compliant use of data
  • Build Capabilities to deliver efficiency, trust & agility to communities of data consumers by focusing on strong, automated & centralized business-rule management, data-quality, data-classification, lineage, and catalogue
  • Proven record of cross-functional partnership with other groups such as TT, analytics, global, etc.
  • As a member of the MDM and DQ team, partner to attract, motivate, retain, and develop talent and build a culture of high performers
  • Build and mentor talent and drive a continuous improvement mind-set within the team

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $192,000.00 and $288,000.00/ year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:

B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Business or other technical degree. MS or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of analytics experience required, with minimum 5 years in healthcare analytics
  • Excellent understanding of Pharmaceutical Data landscape and Data Products including – Digital Data; Syndicated data vendors (IQVIA, Symphony, Veeva); Specialty Pharmacy dispense data ; Hub data; Distribution data; Finance data
  • Minimum 5 years of project management and/or team leadership experience required
  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in healthcare data and supporting commercial and medical needs
  • Hands-on experience with data querying and analytic platforms, preferably SQL, Python, R, or Alteryx
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a matrixed organization, manage multiple projects and to be accountable for individual results
  • Effective project management skills, as demonstrated by on-time, on budget project delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
