Kite is seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as Director, Global Manufacturing Sciences and Technology Lab Network reporting to the Head of GMSAT. The Director, GMSAT Lab Network will lead in coordinating and prioritizing the commercial process life cycle management (LCM) studies conducted in MSAT labs. You will also co-lead Kite’s Commercial Process LCM Council with the Process Design LCM Director. This council is a global network of various PD members managing product lifecycle activities to ensure:
- efficient and effective administration of the LCM portfolio including process improvement opportunities (including CAPAs)
- visibility alignment on work prioritization across LCM network
- adequate Laboratory Support (Process Design MSAT Network)
- adherence to business processes for LCM
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Lead in prioritizing and coordinating commercial product manufacturing process life-cycle management studies across the MSAT Lab network.
- Leading the MSAT Site Lab leads with dotted line reporting relationships.
- Ensure alignment between the Manufacturing Sites and the CMC Teams regarding manufacturing process life cycle priorities.
- Develop a collaborative culture with key partners (site and global) and customers including Site MSAT teams, Process Design, Analytical Development, Network MSAT, etc.
- Work with Network MSAT and Process Design (PTMD) to develop a short and long-term manufacturing process platform roadmap by supporting the evaluation of new process technologies and materials. Facilitate related innovations focusing on the needs of the Manufacturing.
Basic Qualifications:
Advanced scientific degree (i.e. MD, PharmD, PhD) and 8+ years of industry experience OR
Master’s Degree and 10+ years of industry experience OR
Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of industry experience OR
High School Degree and 16+ years of years of industry experience
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience in improving and leading high performing matrix teams
- A PhD degree with cell culture process development experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of tech transfer, Quality by Design, process validation and comparability
- Experience in with single use system and automation technologies is preferred
- Knowledge of GMP compliance, regulations, and manufacturing operations
- Knowledge of cell or gene therapy manufacturing is preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills (lead by influencing)
- Excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Excellent 360-degree communication skills

The salary range for this position is: $181,645.00 - $235,070.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
