Job description
- Provide leadership and guidance to financial reporting team
- Review top side consolidation journal entries
- Review quarterly US GAAP financial statements and related notes for investors
- Review quarterly Management Discussion and Analysis for investors
- Review IFRS financial statements and reporting packages for parent company
- Review other departmental reports
- Prepare and/or review financial statement analysis
- Respond to information requests from parent company and others
- Execute internal controls over financial reporting
- Stay abreast of new accounting pronouncements and exposure drafts and related reporting and disclosure requirements – summarize and report on key aspects and potential accounting and reporting impacts
- Research and document accounting positions for technical accounting matters and transactions
- Review annual impairment analysis for goodwill and other intangible assets
- Other ad hoc projects as requested
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Accounting or related field and 10+ years related experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to lead and manage a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work through complex, unstructured problems
- Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal formats
- High level of written and oral communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability
- Demonstrated strong analytical and project management skills
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and to handle competing priorities effectively
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
