JOB SUMMARY:

Provides oversight, training, and accountability on the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Department that validates and maintains high standards of quality patient care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for the development of nursing and clinical support staff standards in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.

· Provide nursing leadership to CEO, Clinical Director, Department Heads and Governing Body to formulate operational strategies and achieve facility objectives within planned budgets and schedules.

· Develops standardized clinical workflows and case management protocols, including but not limited to, medication and immunization management and administration, emergency services, triage, and specialty services.

· Develop nursing policies and procedures that reflect current clinical practice, professional standards, and facility philosophy of care.

· Provides direction to nursing staff to execute tasks necessary to implement operational objectives.

· Responsible for the development and oversight of clinical support staff competencies.

· Perform personnel functions including interviewing prospective staff members, conducting performance evaluations, and carrying out disciplinary actions when appropriate.

· Enforces a culture of safety and ensures appropriate patient safety standards and guidelines are implemented throughout the delivery of health care.

· Collaborates with clinic leadership on safety and risk management issues, advises on appropriate corrective action and development opportunities.

· Monitors key indicators of clinical support staff performance and leads continuous improvement efforts to enhance clinical services and patient experience.

· Develops and implements quality and utilization standards across the continuum of care to ensure coordinated plans of treatment, customer-focused delivery of services and cost-effective utilization of necessary services. Actively supports quality improvement processes which may include meetings, data collection and charge auditing.

· In conjunction with the Infection Control Professional, implements infection control program designed to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment and to prevent the development and transmission of disease and infection.

· Coordinates interrelationships of outpatient referral system, ancillary support services, and inter-clinic services communication.

· Monitors clinical operations, workflow, layout and management systems, and productivity goals.

· Assures employees comply with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and other requirements.

· Performs other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the operation of the program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a current and active Wyoming Registered Nurse license or qualified compact licensure.

· Minimum of 3 years in a nursing leadership role, preferably in an ambulatory care setting.

· Current BLS, ACLS and PALS Certification or must be able to obtain it within 60 days of hire.

· Intermediate skill in Word and Excel

· Excellent written communication skills.

· Exercise sound judgment and decision making

· Strong knowledge of electronic health record, preferably RPMS.

· Must be able to pass a criminal background check under the Indian Child Protection Act and Family Act (P.L.101-630).

· Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Northern Arapaho Tribal culture and/or other Native American cultures.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

· Full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

· Standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

· The work environment involves risks and discomforts of a patient care setting including exposure to communicable diseases. The demand of computer terminals and keyboards for long periods of time that may cause eye, shoulder, and wrist strain.

o WRFCHC is a mandatory covid vaccine employer. All employees are required to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment.
