Marmon/Keystone is currently looking for a Director of Operations
The Director of Operations for the Distribution and Manufacturing sector plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of the company's manufacturing and distribution processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This strategic leadership position requires strong communication, project management, and analytical skills, as the director is responsible for driving continuous improvement, optimizing operations, and fostering a culture of excellence within the organization. Key responsibilities include talent acquisition and development, compliance with safety regulations, budget planning, logistics management, contract negotiation, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the industry, a proven track record of implementing process improvements, and the ability to effectively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, leading teams to achieve the organization's strategic objectives and promote sustainable growth.
Key Job Duties Include:
- Ensure overall performance in meeting and exceeding customer expectations within the business unit, focusing on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee and guide regional Operations Managers on effective and efficient delivery, storage methods, receiving procedures, and inventory management to optimize operational performance.
- Manage talent acquisition and development by recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating all operations personnel, fostering a well-organized and high-performing workforce.
- Monitor regional facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, maintain OSHA standards, and implement safety initiatives to create a safe work environment.
- Drive continuous improvement through quality monitoring, implementing 80/20 concepts, and promoting a culture of operational excellence.
- Schedule and oversee production and workflow to meet customer service requirements, ensuring timely delivery and efficient resource allocation.
- Enforce adherence to safe work practices, conduct performance evaluations, and administer disciplinary action when necessary to maintain a productive and accountable workforce.
- Review and approve expenses for facility maintenance, equipment repair, and upgrades, ensuring cost-effective investments and operations.
- Oversee inventory management, quality control, and cost control, implementing best practices and data-driven decision-making processes to optimize performance.
Engage in regular travel to regional facilities, conducting on-site visits, and ensuring consistent implementation of company policies and procedures across all locations.

- Analytical and problem-solving skills: Capacity to analyze complex data, identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop and implement effective solutions.
- Change management expertise: Proven ability to lead organizational change, adapt to evolving business environments, and drive innovation within the company.
- Strategic thinking: Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies that align with company goals, enhance competitive advantage, and foster business growth.
- Customer-focused mindset: Commitment to understanding customer needs and providing outstanding service, while balancing operational efficiency and profitability.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing and distribution, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and optimizing manufacturing and distribution operations.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in distribution and manufacturing.
- Experience with various manufacturing methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement techniques.
- Proficiency in ERP and related software systems to manage production, inventory, and logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets and financial reporting.
