Reporting to the VP of Sales | Direct Revenue, the Director of Sales will lead and help grow our New Business division outside of the Atlassian market (lead qualifying and account acquisition). You'll be coaching and mentoring our current team of Account Executives (AE’s) and Business Development Representatives (BDR’s) on sales strategies and tactics, while providing support throughout the entire sales process in the interest of meeting and exceeding Tempo’s revenue targets.

This role will see you:

  • Help define a “culture of excellence” through appropriate coaching, team meetings and trainings, and and individual one-on-one’s with strategies to create pipeline and drive closure.

    • For team members outside of Enterprise, expectation is to spend 2-4 hours per month with each member to review their pipeline generation and movement activities

  • Deliver, design, and refine upon existing forecasting methodologies for yourself and your staff

  • Design, execute, and refine upon existing sales processes and methodologies, with consultative and expansion selling at the forefront of our approach

  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis to gain actionable insights on team and individual performance to further position the Tempo business for scale, and advanced ability to communicate said analysis throughout the organization

  • Clearly communicate in the interest of inspiring action, and serving as an advocate and liaison for your team and the business.

  • Work with AEs to develop key and major accounts within their territories.

  • Strategize and identify additional opportunities for growth across segments, verticals, industries and product in concert with C-level leadership and peers.

What you’ll need to succeed::

  • 3+ years leadership experience in a mid-market and enterprise sales environment on growing teams

  • Proven record of sales success with B2B SaaS technologies

  • Ability and experience in hiring and training new staff with experience in both the sales development and acquisition motions

  • A deep understanding of GTM marketing and sales acceleration tools (i.e. SFDC, SalesNavigator, Wingman, Clari, SalesLoft, et al)

  • Experience within a SaaS environment, preferably within a high-growth start up environment

  • Relevant tech/SaaS sales experience within the work management space will be advantageous but not essential

  • 5+ years of direct selling experience in B2B SaaS, software, or technology

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage a high volume sales pipeline

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High level of empathy for both our end users and your team members
