Job Summary: Assist with the operation of rideshare services. Assist supervisors, managers and operators in safe, professional, and efficient operation of the system. Responsible for the daily operations of the Dispatch Office, manpower, equipment assignments.
Essential Functions:
1. Assist operators with unscheduled delays, maintenance problems, and personnel issues.
2. Involved in resolving customer complaints concerning operators and route service as needed.
3. Receive and respond to all radio calls. This includes providing information, assistance, and route problem solutions to operators and road supervisors.
4. Responsible for performing duties in accordance with company policies and within the boundaries of the labor contract.
5. Must be willing to work various shifts including evenings and weekends.
6. Must check in/out equipment to rideshare services operators needed to perform service (tablets, cords, vehicle keys, etc.).
7. Responsible for all equipment accountability and reporting issues at the time they are known.
8. Handle all lost and found items in accordance with company policies and procedures.
9. Assist with rideshare services to include directing drivers, street supervisors and maintenance personnel while on the road to ensure prompt, safe and efficient delivery, and street issues to avoid delays (i.e., incorrect addresses, gate codes, being lost, communication equipment problems, security issues etc.).
10. Uses a PC based computer dispatching system and MTTA’s software, over the air radio system and vehicle location system to track the increasing number of non-disabled and disabled patron pick-ups per service day.
11. Identifies and documents alternative vehicle resources as required to re-assign to prevent and/or recover from service interruptions that can cause patron complaints/physical distress and financial loss to MTTA for unproductive use of revenue hours. Requires communication and coordination with drivers, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
12. Consistently review runs and contacts drivers to update their schedules.
13. Receives and documents driver input regarding patron trip changes (i.e., no-rides, cancellations).
14. Identifies, document and reports vehicle breakdowns, road calls and accidents to all appropriate MTTA staff.
15. Provides excellent customer service to MTTA internal and external customers.
16. Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
17. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Other Job Functions:
18. Assist other departments with extra activities requiring operations personnel or assistance.
19. Maintains knowledge of safe work practices, including reporting unsafe conditions.
19. Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
20. Performs other incidental duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge - High school graduate or equivalent. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel software. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Prefer experience with the MTTA system and knowledge of the Tulsa metropolitan area. Must have good working knowledge and understanding of company policies, work rules, and labor contract. Must hold a current Oklahoma driver’s license.
Mental Effort - Must have ability to communicate effectively with driver work force and the public. Individual must have capacity to deal with more than one problem at a time and deal calmly with the public under stressful situations.
Physical – Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment physical and drug screen. Must be able to sit for long periods.
Audible/Visual Demands - Requires ability to hear telephone and directions given; visually perform essential functions for satisfactory job performance. Ability to view visual display terminal for extended periods.
Miscellaneous - Must be willing to work varied shifts and days as assigned. Must be safety conscious and avoid accidents if possible.
